# Band of the Month: Lucid Karma - April 2024

Forming in 2022, our Apil band of the month is Lucid Karma! The 5-piece metalcore act hails from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Lucid Karma creates an intense sound with heavy-hitting guitar riffage, extreme vocals, and dynamic tempos. With a sound that pays homage to classic death metal/deathcore, the band creates a nostalgic and raw sound with modern production. 

Lucid Karma released their latest single "Your Poison" on April 12th and coming in just under 3 minutes of metal madness, the track is an anthem of instrumental and vocal destruction. With bending guitar riffage and screeching pinch harmonics, Lucid Karma creates fierce soundscapes through technical instrumentation and explosive screaming/growling vocals. Distant choir singing adds depth and melody in a heavier setting, forming a sense of strong contrast and complexity throughout the song. "Your Poison" ends with a whisper build-up into a blegh and a powerful breakdown outro. 

Overall, Lucid Karma displays a brutal sound that fans of heavy metal, metalcore, and deathcore will definitely enjoy!
