# FKA RAYNE Releases New Alt Single "Disgusting."

Alt-metal artist FKA Rayne released their new single *Disgusting.* on November 21st. It introduces itself quickly with hard-hitting drop-tuned guitar riffage before haunting female vocals are introduced. Singing quickly alternates between floating melodies and harsh screams as blisteringly heavy instrumentals, industrial elements, and horror-esque synths create a unique sound. 

On the new track, the band states:

> "Disgusting.’ is an anxious, icy, and metallic track. A cold mirror covered in condensation, and the realisation that your reflection doesn’t quite match your movements." 

FKA Rayne showcases a very distinct musical style here–industrial and horror elements remind me slightly of the atmosphere of horrorcore, while instruments stay wildly heavy; seemingly drawing from acts like **Nine Inch Nails** or modern metalcore acts like **Poppy**. 

Overall, *Disgusting.* is a well-polished track filled with eerie melodies, crushing heaviness, and soundscapes filled with depth and alternative influences that fans of modern metal and alternative rock will certainly enjoy. Following the success of popular releases like *Side Effect* and *WOOF*, FKA Rayne is growing an impressive following and gaining features on major Spotify playlists like *VOLUME*, *All New Metal*, and *New Blood*.
