# Song Review - Kryptic Releases Debut Self-titled Single

San Diego forged band Kryptic released their debut single on February 23rd. The track starts with atmospheric rain before gentle ambient clean guitars lay down technical melodic leads with dramatic pauses. With a progressive sound on display Kryptic launches into an explosion of heavily distorted guitar riffage that transitions back into clean guitar, creating a distinct sense of contrast between the light and heavy instrumentals.

After syncopated distorted guitar work, Kryptic switches into drawn-out dynamic guitar chord progressions. Suddenly the song bursts into rapid arpeggiated guitar riffs before fading back into gentle clean guitar melodies. With a distinct sound that mixes genres like progressive metal, psychedelic, classic metal and more, Kryptic displays a promising sound that fans of these genres will enjoy!
