All instruments, mixing/mastering, and production ws done at his home studio, with the exception of hired session singers recording the vocals. Previously in the band **CASPER**, MiKiT has played shows with bands like **UFO, Wishbone Ashe**, and **Dr. Feelgood**. His upcoming EP, "Highway Of Lies" begins with its track of the same name. As the track introduces itself, distant piano, ambient clean guitar, and airy synths create a gentle, atmospheric sound that has an umistakable grooviness to it. Vocals kick in with a soft rock 80s vibe to it as funky bass lines descend across the mix. MiKiT's production is smooth and well-done, but does have a noticeable self-produced sound that furthers the 80s-esque sound to me, and I don't mind it, the production is defintely one of the better self-produced tracks that I've heard. Slower verses focus on groove before eventually leading into choruses with soaring vocals and (possibly too bright) cymbal hits. A calm but technical guitar solo leads into a final chorus that fades out the track. Next up is "I'll Be Your Angel". If the last track was more groove, this one is undeniably a classic rock tune. Chiming keyboard organs are met by clean electric rock riffs and raspy vocals that carry a rock 'n' roll swagger. As the song builds into its chorus, powerful choir harmonies are added to the main vocals as a group chants along to the main melody. I think the self-produced sound really suits this track; it really feels to me like a song that could fit on a 70s or 80s classic rock playlist seamlessly with other songs from the time. "This Is The Love" begins with hi-hat hits and strummed guitar as distant guitar distortion builds in volume before introducing soft, drawn-out vocal melodies. The 7 minute song starts slow as vocals take the forefront of the mix with a slightly southern rock vibe in the vocals and guitar. The backup singing from the last song is brought back into this track and accents the vocals very well. At 7 minutes in length, the vocals stop a little after the 5-minute mark, followed by 2 minutes of solo instrumentals. I find that "This Is The Love" runs a bit too long for my taste, but it does an excellent job of capturing a specific vibe and keeps a satisfying level of groove throughout. Final track, "Soul On Fire" starts with a much more intense sound as dramatic spoken vocals and a tense cinematic intro soon fade into funky bass and choppy guitar leads. Soon, guitar riffs make way for a bright dance synth to take the stage while chopped female vocals soar through the background. I really enjoy the use of different synth tones alongside the classic rock sound. "Soul On Fire" introduces a dynamic between male and female vocals and a much more electronic, experimental sound that feels much different from the previous tracks. I love when bands aren't afraid to switch things up, and think it keeps a piece of discography more interesting when an artist doesn't keep the same sound throughout, so I appreciated this change of pacing. Fans of classic rock, 70s/80s era music, and groovy music will certainly appreciate MiKiT's sound.
