Raised in a deeply musical and artistic family, Scarlett began playing piano at age four, but it was her teenage years immersed in grunge guitars and alternative sounds that most shaped her creative identity and impacted her songwriting. The result; “Piano Power” a collision of neo-classical treble and dramatic thunderous power chords, accompanied by raw and ethereal vocals. Her performances span from cinematic to confrontational addressing themes of injustice, rage, vulnerability and resilience. Highlights of her discography include heavy rhythmic pieces like *New Victim*, her fierce 2016 single *User*, the politically lyrically driven *Sick of It*, and the instrumental orchestral storm, *The Prophet*– which won the Flinders University Art Prize. Her 2012 EP *Songbird*, is a piano cello release that exemplifies her softer, more introspective side told with deep metaphorical poetry and ends with the haunting and mournful cinematic instrumental, *A Pause for Lament*. ## **Latest Work** In 2023, Scarlett released her debut full-length album, “Requiem for the Earth”. Described by critics as a masterpiece, it is a bold, soul baring and immersive record, filled with gothic textures, powerful piano, sweeping strings and visceral vocals. A progressive full-band production that takes you on a dramatic and dynamic sonic journey. The opening track *Maria* draws you in deeply with an eerie dissonance and unusual rhythm that dramatically explodes into wailing and of warning; Beckoning for the personal and collective mother, mother Earth, to be freed. The notable single *Predator*, is some of her most fierce and unapologetic work. A melding of vulnerability and volcanic rage where the piano menaces and swirls, electric guitars howl and the vocals are raw, blunt, and spine-tingling in delivery. Scarlett hits all the issues of the ‘Me Too’ movement head on and does not leave a beat to do it meekly. She is seeking to collaborate with a reputable label, booker and agent that aligns with her unique artistic vision and sound to do the music a great justice. ## **Future Work** Scarlett has an impressive and solid body of work that includes around 25 more songs yet to be recorded.
