# Song Review: Sleeping In Silence "Still Alive!"

Hailing from Kentucky, **Sleeping In Silence** is an alternative metal act that just released their debut single, *Still Alive!* on August 21st, 2025\. The act was formed originally as a solo project by horror enthusiast Denny Kidd in 2022 before eventually becoming a full 5-piece band. 

*Still Alive!* starts off with heavy guitar as bright lead guitar tremolos layer over the mix before introducing melodic yet dark singing. Building drums work alongside fast riffage before jumping into a powerful chorus with dynamic sing-screaming vocals. Sleeping In Silence takes a modern metal sound and mixes it with instrumentals that have a punk/emo vibe to them, creating a unique sound. 

In a series of unexpected changes, Sleeping In Silence introduces female singing vocals to contrast the earlier vocals and nu-metal hip-hop vocal flows, keeping things interesting. 

Overall *Still Alive!* is a fresh and exciting debut from Sleeping In Silence that showcases the band's sound. *Still Alive!* has also been selected to be featured in 2 horror movies currently in production, *Festevil* and *Only Fangs*.
