# Song Review: Cold Lake - “Black Is Back”

Swedish producer **Ronny Svanströmer** created the solo project **Cold Lake** in 2024, and just released his newest single *Black Is Back* following his debut track *Brothers*. 

*Black Is Back* starts off with an intro that sets the listener into the midst of military warfare as roaring helicopters and distorted radio channels—Cold Lake quickly creates a strong soundscape that transports you into modern day battle with an in-depth atmosphere.

The song kicks in with classic heavy metal action as the song introduced valiant guitar riffs, fierce vocals filled with gusto, and slamming drum grooves. Cold Lake creates a sound that blends an old-school heavy metal sound with modern metal, forming a sound that is both nostalgic and fresh. 

*Black Is Back* is hard-hitting instrumentally while scream-singing vocals add a blend of ferocity and melody to the track that keeps things interesting. Fans of classic metal, heavy metal, and acts like **Metallica** will enjoy Cold Lake’s sound.
