# Song Review: Vile Sycophant - "Corrupted"

**Vile Sycophant** is a fresh deathcore act emerging from Wales, UK, in 2025\. The solo project comes from the mind of **Harry Tadayon**, also known for his work in **Worm Shepherd** and **Hate Within**. 

Vile Sycophant released their 2nd song to date, *Corrupted*, on May 30th, and it quickly sets itself apart from a traditional deathcore sound with heavily emphasized ethnic instruments like flutes, harps, and more, adding a sound that seems to mix asian and Egyptian influences with crushingly heavy metal.

Don't be fooled by the song's melodic influences, though; Vile Sycophant is here to deliver a distinct brand of brutally intense destruction with no apologies. Explosively heavy guitar chugs work alongside slamming drum beats and crushing down-tempo beats before launching into galloping blast beats and speeding riffs. Vile Sycophant expertly creates intricate atmospheres that transport you to a new time period and location, all while continuing to deliver a ruthless, extreme metal sound. After a particularly intense, massively slowed breakdown with creaking guttural and screeching guitar dissonance, *Corrupted* ends on a crushingly hard-hitting note.
