Serj Tankian of SYSTEM OF A DOWN Announces New Album and Single Out Now

Serj Tankian Releases 2 new singles, "Electric Dreams" and "A Seed (Ft. Deadmau5) out now + upcoming album "Covers, Collaborations & Collages"

Serj Tankian–known for his work as the lead vocalist for System Of A Down, his solo work, and his activism and poetry–has just released his first 2 singles from his upcoming album Covers, Collaborations & Collages via Serjical Strike Records.

Tankian's upcoming album will be a genre-blending body of work that is designed to "celebrate artistic unity, reinvention, and storytelling". Serj's first two singles from the album, Electric Dreams and A Seed (featuring electronic produced Deadmau5) are available to stream now.

Serj Tankian states on the new music:

“Similar to Foundations, these are pre-existing archival recordings, some of them from way back,” says Tankian. “I wanted to put out a record of collaborations I haven’t released before, along with covers, which I haven’t done. The rest, the collages, are parts that fit the puzzle in the same tone, the same vibe.”

Tankian will release one song each week alongside stories, inspirations, and influences that helped shape each track. So far, the first two available tracks showcase very different sounds, with hectic, eccentric, and experimental atmospheres that jump from genre to genre.

Electric Dreams takes an acoustic, "stripped" sound; meanwhile, A Seed features piano that slowly builds into bouncing EDM beats and chaotic digital atmospheres as singing and spoken poetry overlap with intricate soundscapes, creating a highly experimental tone.
