KYNOV is a Switzerland-based creator and producer behind the melodic hard rock project Sofia-Emiliana. The project is represented by a fictitious persona with AI-generated lead vocals, while KYNOV handles lyrics, production, and instrumentals.

Sofia Emiliana released their latest album "Ashes and Shadows" on September 6th, 2026. "Burn the Silence" is a powerful example of what Sofia's music has to offer, as raspy vocals are built alongside bright orchestral melodies, quickly introducing a symphonic metal sound before chugging guitar and slamming drums are brought into the fray. The sound quickly builds a striking balance between brutal metal intensity and catchy orchestral elements alongside soaring, melodic vocal hooks. The song's chorus is anthemic and upbeat, building an explosive melody that will easily get stuck in your head.

The other top-performing track from the album, "Two Shadows" opens the LP while quickly showcasing a sound that strays between symphonic metal and a power-metal vibe. The song has a theatrical and cinematic feel to it as belting vocals and upbeat instrumentals build a sound that feels equally intense and catchy. A bridge features a shredding guitar solo before launching into a final chorus, then fading out with gentle piano before a quick breakdown as high-octane guitar leads layer over it.

The standout track to me is "Burn the Silence". Its energy and explosive chorus are the high point of the album to me. The vocals have a slight rasp/roughness to them that doesn't quite feel completely realistic, but there is excellent vocal melody, lyrical, and instrumental writing in the music, particularly in "Burn the Silence" that fans of symphonic and melodic metal/rock are certain to enjoy.
