Tim Henson Unveils Self-Produced Solo Single "Original Sin" and High-End Fashion Brand
Tim Henson, known for his work in Polyphia, release new solo single and announces fashion brand Original Sin.
Polyphia guitarist, Tim Henson released "Original Sin" today—his first entirely self-produced solo track, accompanied by a music video and the announcement of a forthcoming clothing brand bearing the same name.
Best known for bending modern instrumental music with Polyphia, Henson took complete creative control for this release, producing, mixing, and shaping every element on his own. It's a daredevil move for an artist who's built a career on collaboration, and the result feels both invigorating and deliberately disruptive.
Originally conceived on keyboard with synth textures, "Original Sin" evolved once Henson filtered his ideas through nylon-string guitar—an instrument he hasn't centered on since Polyphia's 2022 standout "Playing God." The track bends form and expectation, embodying the conceptual tension Henson wanted to explore.
Tim Henson shares:
"'Original Sin' started as something digital with synths and keys, but once I translated it to my nylon-string guitar, everything clicked," Henson explained. "I wanted to play with contradiction: a waltz that feels like it's driving forward, something elegant but uncomfortable. Conceptually, it's about choice. If you're forced to do the right thing, it doesn't mean anything. That idea—freedom, temptation, consequence—is something I've been thinking about a lot."
Henson frames the title less as a moral lesson and more as a metaphor about agency. Creation becomes meaningful only because choice exists—a philosophy that extends into the accompanying music video and his forthcoming clothing brand. The high-end fashion line merges elevated design with the meticulous attention to detail that defines his music, offering fans another way to engage with his creative vision.
Meanwhile, Henson participated in an exclusive press conference at the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Show today. In collaboration with Ibanez, he unveiled five upcoming guitar prototypes, including the new TOD (Tree of Death) line of electric nylon-string guitars and the all-new TOD100 models, set for release later this year. He's also completed recent interviews with Rolling Stone and WIRED, further cementing his place as one of the most talked-about musicians of his generation.
While Polyphia remains a central focus for 2026, "Original Sin" offers a rare, unfiltered look at Henson as a solo artist. With millions of followers across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, his influence spans far beyond the guitar world—bridging fans of music, philosophy, culture, fashion, and innovation. This solo release, paired with a clothing brand launch and cutting-edge guitar designs, proves Henson's creative appetite extends well beyond the stage.
