Song Review: Amara "Season Of The Fall"
Canada-based symphonic metal artist Amara just released their debut album New Exile on October 31st, 2025. New Exile explores themes of personal trauma, abusive relationships, and mental health struggles–transforming them into strength, catharsis, and freedom through the power of music.
The first track of the album, Seasons Of The Fall begins with dark ambient piano, distant lofi drum beats, atmospheric pads, and melodic female vocals that set a soundscape that is haunting and filled with depth. Soon, full drums kick in with more upbeat vocals before full intensity electric guitar and infectious vocal hooks work together to create an addictive chorus.
Taking inspiration from successful acts like Evanescence, Lacuna Coil, and Within Temptation, Amara creates a dark, and atmospheric sound that balances heavy metal with hard rock, and pop vocal melodies. Orchestral and symphonic elements add brightness to the background while helping to create intricate atmospheres that feel full and expansive.
Amara's overall production is excellent for a debut release, and songwriting is equally impressive with wildly catchy instrumental and vocal melodies that make the music feel widely accessible and memorable.
