Solo project created by Swedish producer Ronny Svanströmer, Cold Lake just released their latest single Black Is Back. The military themed track starts with distant helicopters and radio chatter before building into booming drums, hard-hitting guitar riffs, and soaring scream-singing vocals that build a powerful sense of melody.

Cold Lake quickly delivers a nostalgic old-school heavy metal sound that reminds of thrash and classic heavy metal, as theatrical vocals and bouncing guitar harmonies create catchy, anthemic hooks. While Cold Lake pays homage to the all-time metal greats with their sound, the music also has a crystal clear mix and modern production that creates an idea of what classic music would sound like if it was produced today.

With a runtime of 4 and a half minutes, Black Is Back takes a dynamic musical style with huge choruses and powerful leads that are sure to stick in your head.

Since Cold Lake's start in 2024, they have released 2 singles, Brothers and Black Is Back The project blends elements of hard rock, country, pop melodies, alternative music, and arena rock–into one cohesive sound that is distinctly Cold Lake.

Ronny Svanströmer started off his musical career as a drummer, songwriter, and producer for the Swedish rock band Covered Call before releasing his first solo work under Cold Lake in 2024 with debut song Brothers.
