Song Review: Faith In Failure - "Troubled Times"
Columbus, Ohio metal act Faith In Failure released their latest single, Troubled Times on July 18th, 2025. The track starts off with a chiming bell and hard-hitting guitar riffage that bursts into grooving drum beats and harmonizing dual guitar melodies. Singing vocals soon kick in as instrumentals build a theatrical and energetic sound that may remind of acts like Avenged Sevenfold and Ice Nine Kills.
Faith In Failure builds massive soundscapes with operatic singing, technical guitars, and arpeggiated melodies–creating a grandiose, larger-than-life sound. Clocking in at just over 6 minutes, Troubled Times is filled with soaring solos, slamming breakdowns, and infectious hooks that create a well-rounded track that takes listeners on a journey through multiple hard rock and metal genres.
After an epic finale, the song slowly fades as ambience and isolated vocals gradually wither away.
