In Absentia Release Progressive New Single "Silence" Out Now!

Hailing from Birmingham, 5-piece metalcore/post-metal act In Absentia released their 2nd single Silence on August 8, 2025.

The track bursts into action with booming 808s and bouncing arpeggiated synths before introducing hard-hitting guitar riffs and grooving drums. The track quickly creates a sound that reminds of progressive metalcore as male and female vocals alternate between soaring melodies and explosively heavy screams.

In Absentia's sound doesn't quite fit one genre as it seems to bob and weave between metal and rock influences in a way that keeps the sound fresh and interesting. The Birmingham act does an excellent job of building intricate atmospheric soundscapes that tie in brutal and melodic elements to create a sound that balances contrast expertly. With all music, mixing, mastering, and production done independently, we are very impressed by the quality of In Absentia's sound, particularly for a fresh band who is so early in their discography.
