Infensus Inferi Release Brutal New EP "The Abomination Of The Divine Heretic"
Infensus Inferi is a North Carolina death metal act that was formed by Pete Stroupe in 2010. After an untimely break due to heart health concerns, the band is back with their first release in 10 years.
The Abomination Of The Divine Heretic is a crushing return to the spotlight for Infensus Inferi. With 7 tracks and a runtime of just under 30 minutes, the North Carolina act showcases a viscerally heavy sound that draws from old-school death metal, technical metal, and modern extreme metal genres.
The 7 tracks feel like they blend seamlessly into the next, creating tracks that flow well while maintaining some style differences that keep them varied. While tracks like Revenant take on a classic death metal sound, other songs like Traphouse Of Terror deliver brutal grindcore "whistling" growls, demonstrating impressive vocal techniques.
After the band's long hiatus, Pete Stroupe decided to reunite the band and began writing what is now The Abomination Of The Divine Heretic. Stroupe enlisted the help of his friends Rob "Gore" and Merle Bomber (of Coffin Syrup) to create the EP. The entire record was recorded in Pete's studio and mixed/mastered by Jamie King.
Overall Infensus Inferi makes a defiant return that delivers an explosively heavy death metal sound with influences from technical metal, grindcore, and black metal seeping into the fray to create a distinctly intense sound. Fans of extreme metal should check out The Abomination Of The Divine Heretic.
