Killamozz Release New Single "Age of Cage" and Exclusive Interview

Iranian-American duo, Killamozz released their debut single Age of Cage on August 22, preceding their full debut album release in October 2025.
Killamozz carefully crafts a wildly unique sound, creating a distinct blend of heavy metal, EDM, industrial, and Iranian folk elements. The band's debut takes a look into themes of political unrest, existential struggle, and techno-capitalism–all while delivering an equally brutal and melodic sound.
The band shared this on Age of Cage:
“Age of Cage is about living in a system that conditions us to believe freedom exists while keeping us trapped in cycles of control. It’s the beginning of our story—both musically and thematically—and sets the stage for the journey of the album.”
Members Nima Cheraghi & Bardia Mousavi were united in 2015 and originally lived across the globe in separate continents before collaborating on what would eventually become Killamozz.
Killamozz showcases a wildly impressive sound with their debut, blending the bright synths of EDM, industrial grit, the intensity of heavy metal, Iranian culture, and thought-provoking lyrical content. You can watch Killamozz's official music video below:
Exclusive Interview with Killamozz:
- How would you describe your music?
Our music is a blend of heavy riffs and electronic synths, infused with strong messages. We work hard to ensure the lyrics complement each record in every track. We’ve also incorporated Iranian-folk rhythms in melodies on several of our records, giving our music an Iranian-American charm that feels uniquely ours.\
- What are Killamozz's biggest influences?
We draw a lot from heavy metal titans like Metallica, System of a Down, and Slipknot, but we also weave in elements from artists and writers who inspire us in different ways—from Skrillex and TOOL to Shakespeare, Goethe and Khayyam. We believe our music is at its best when it reflects all the different sounds and ideas we've come to love.
- What is the song "Age of Cage" about/what does it mean to you?
"Age of Cage" is our direct critique of the two-party political system. The song’s core message is about the facade of division—how those in power use a "left vs. right" narrative to distract us from the real problems and keep us from uniting on the issues that truly matter. For us, it’s about exposing that false dichotomy so people can break out of this thought cage they've been placed in and confront the real powers that seek to control them.
- How did the band form and when?
We connected in our late teens after Bardia moved to the U.S. from Iran and Turkey. We, along with Bardia’s brother, bonded over a shared love for rock and metal. For half a decade, we shared records between each other, including our own songs. During the pandemic, Nima showed Bardia a new demo he was working on, and we both instantly felt a creative spark. Funny enough, that demo made it in the album cut, and is the next single we’re releasing.
We continued to collaborate on other tracks, finding a sound we never heard before, but our lives were in transition, and we were in different cities. Things finally aligned in 2023 when we both found ourselves in Los Angeles, allowing us to resume our sessions. We officially set a deadline to complete the album demos in January of 2025, but the band's path to inevitable existence came much earlier.
