Song Review: Serpico - "Hard as a Cannonball"

Finnish hard rock act Serpico has just released their latest single, Hard as a Cannonball out now. The band is signed to American label Golden Robot Records and is set to release their upcoming album Dressed In Flesh on September 12th.
Hard as a Cannonball clocks in at just under 4 minutes, and it wastes no time–coming out of the gate with aggressive, in-your-face guitar leads, booming bass lines, explosive drums, and soaring vocals. Serpico quickly showcases a sound that utilizes modern production while staying true to a nostalgic, old-school heavy metal/rock 'n' roll sound.
With all the hard-hitting guitar solos, theatrical vocals, and fast-paced hard rock you could ask for, Serpico also showcases an exciting cinematic music video that features the band rocking out in a smoky room, followed by high-speed footage of race cars drifting around tracks. Serpico crafts and refines a classic rock/heavy metal sound that pays homage to all-time greats while building a unique sound that is distinct to the band.
The band stated on the new single:
"This is it–a modern-day David vs. Goliath, like Rocky Balboa & Ivan Drago. You can feel the passion and power from the very start to the bitter end. "Hard as a Cannonball" thrusts you into the heart of a fierce battlefield, serving as proof that pure fiction no longer exists - there’s no choice but to stand tall and fight for your life. The collaboration between the band and platinum producer resulted in a fully analog-recorded song, bringing the raw energy and genuine sense of danger back to rock music. It’s something classic, yet undeniably fresh and new."
You can watch the official music video filmed by Ville Juurikkala (known for their work with Slash, Steven Tyler, Nightwish, HIM, & more).
