Song Review: Silver Dust - “I Saw Your Light”
Silver Dust’s released their 5th studio album Symphony Of Chaos in April, 2025. The quartet’s song I Saw Your Light quickly showcases a traditional classic heavy metal sound with thrashing riffs, slamming drum grooves, and equally theatrical and dark vocals—but it soon gives way to much more.
Silver Dust suddenly introduces bright synths, distant EDM beats, and raw screams, showcasing a slew of new influences before jumping into a hard-hitting breakdown with crushing guitar tones. Ominous choirs fill in the background while an onslaught of metal takes the center of the stage before reintroducing dance music elements in a way that stays true to the dramatic sound. Unexpectedly, Silver Dust catapaults the listener into an even more breakdown with colossal riffage, crashing drums, and a brutally intense sound.
After an epic finale filled with grooving thrash that soon leads into an aggressive outro, Silver Dust ends the song in a powerful fashion. Mixing EDM, grooving riffs, intense metal, orchestral elements, and thrash, I Saw Your Light is a visceral track that stays intriguing throughout while wearing its influences on its sleeves.
