Song Review: Sleeping In Silence "Still Alive!"
Hailing from Kentucky, Sleeping In Silence is an alternative metal act that just released their debut single, Still Alive! on August 21st, 2025. The act was formed originally as a solo project by horror enthusiast Denny Kidd in 2022 before eventually becoming a full 5-piece band.
Still Alive! starts off with heavy guitar as bright lead guitar tremolos layer over the mix before introducing melodic yet dark singing. Building drums work alongside fast riffage before jumping into a powerful chorus with dynamic sing-screaming vocals. Sleeping In Silence takes a modern metal sound and mixes it with instrumentals that have a punk/emo vibe to them, creating a unique sound.
In a series of unexpected changes, Sleeping In Silence introduces female singing vocals to contrast the earlier vocals and nu-metal hip-hop vocal flows, keeping things interesting.
Overall Still Alive! is a fresh and exciting debut from Sleeping In Silence that showcases the band's sound. Still Alive! has also been selected to be featured in 2 horror movies currently in production, Festevil and Only Fangs.
