Song Review: Visions Unseen - "Breaking The Illusions"

Montreal, Canada metal project Visions Unseen just released their debut single Breaking The Illusions out now. Visions Unseen is led by composed/produced Rémi Legresley with Patrick Goyette on vocals, Yann Guénette on bass, and featuring Simon Mckay (The Agonist) on drums.

The album is a meditation on the impermanence of existence and the memories that persist long after all else has faded. - Visions Unseen

Breaking The Illusions starts off with heavy-hitting progressive metal riffs as speeding blast beats, rapid double bass drumming and intense screams work together to create an equally technical and fast sound. Visions Unseen take a progressive metalcore sound and blend it with more extreme influences like deathcore and hardcore, creating a raw energy that still has a polish to it.

Written, recorded, mixed, and produced by Rémi Legresley, Breaking The Illusions showcases an impressive debut with excellent production and an exciting musical sound. Clocking in at just over 6 minutes, Visions Unseen take listeners on a brutally intense journey that displays technical musicianship and crushing heaviness. In a grand-finale, Breaking The Illusions catapaults into a visceral breakdown filled with slamming drum beats, explosive chugs, and raw screams–before fading out with dissonance.

We are impressed by Visions Unseen's debut and the band also plans to release their full debut album Echoes Through Time this year. You can stream Breaking The Illusions out everywhere now.
