Drummer for THE NEW PORNOGRAPHERS Arrested After Filming Children in a Chick-Fil-A Bathroom
Indie Rock Band, The New Pornographers Drummer Joe Seiders has been arrested for multiple charges of possession of Explicit Content involving children, annoying/molesting children, invasion of privacy, and attempted invasion of privacy.
Joe Seider was initially reported on a call on April 7th that stated he was following an 11-year old boy into a Chick-Fil-A bathroom. Just 2 days later authorities were contacted again at the same Chick-Fil-A after Seider was once again seen following children in and out of the bathroom, leading to his arrest once police arrived.
After his arrest Palm Desert Investigation Bureau searched Seiders home, vehicle, and phone, discovering explicit content involving children as well as evidence that linked him to both reports at Chick-Fil-A.
Seiders is currently detained at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in California with bail set at $1 million. The ongoing investigation has stated that there may be more victims and they are encouraging anyone with additional information to contact them at 760-836-1600.
In response to the recent events, the remaining members of The New Pornographers made this statement on Instagram:
“Everyone in the band is absolutely shocked, horrified, and devastated by the news of the charges against Hoe Seiders — and we have immediately severed all ties with him. Our hearts go out to everyone who has been impacted by his actions.”
