Palpitate release new single "Devour" | The Metalverse

Palpitate, a metal act from Czechia, released their newest single Devour on December 5th, 2025. The track explores the feeling of looking back on an intense emotional experience in the past that has left a strong mark on you.

Devour begins with progressive, clean guitar before introducing bright electric guitar and slamming drums. Everything fades away except drums, bass, and gentle guitar as emotional vocals slowly build up alongside instrumentals. Palpitate bursts into the song's explosive chorus as sing-screams create a harder edge and guitars take on a more extreme metal tone.

Palpitate does an excellent job of creating contrast between clamer verses that build energy while the chorus is filled with energy and more intensity, leaving you waiting for the chorus to kick in. Devour suddenly launches into a brutal breakdown with double bass drumming, slamming guitar riffs, and harsh screams before leading into a bridge that brings back progressive metal influences as ambient clean guitar harmonizes with electric guitar melodies. A final chorus leads into a second explosive breakdown that finishes the track in a brutal fashion.
