New band, Last Orbit, have just released their debut single, Faceless, alongside their official lyric video, which can be found on YouTube below.

The band shares the concept behind Last Orbit:

"Last Orbit is based around a scary star that is dying in deep space, and becoming awake. It is sending signals to humans on Earth that Last Orbit is interpreting and translating through music. We have to do this because it’s the only way to stay safe. If we don’t release what we hear, it consumes us."

Faceless begins with ambient guitar melodies as thudding bass and soaring female vocals cut through the mix. Clean guitar and gentle vocals soon build into full metal intensity as groovy drums, explosive guitar chugs, and ambient synths are met by more powerful vocals. Last Orbit creates a sound that draws from alternative and progressive metal, showing influences from acts like Sleep Token with immersive soundscapes and extreme metal guitar and drums layering over soft vocals and bright melodies.

In the last minute of Faceless, Last Orbit introduces screams and growls for the first time, showing that clean vocals aren't the only thing in their repertoire.
